Principal’s Welcome
Dear parents and friends,
On behalf of everyone in Lyreacrompane N.S., we would like to welcome you to our newly updated school blog. In Lyreacrompane N.S. we aim to provide a secure and happy learning environment in a friendly relaxed manner for all our pupils, parents and school staff.
We, as a staff, believe that our school provides an education unique to other schools. Our small class sizes means that the children get the attention and support they need and deserve which can often be lost in larger schools and classrooms. We have a young and energetic staff who work hard to provide a caring school environment as we deliver the core fundamentals of the Irish Primary School Curriculum. This year we hope to optain our third An Taisce “Green Schools” flag and we are also striving for a record 7th “Irish Primary Science” Award.
As you browse through our blog you will discover that we endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in our school community and to promote in the pupils respect for people and property while encouraging them to be independent and responsible. You will clearly see the emphasis placed on extra-curricular work in the school and how we use the school’s beautiful and unique rural location as an educational resource and tool.
Here in Lyreacrompane N.S. we are very proud of our school and pupils. Thank you for taking time to read this address and I hope you enjoy our blog; it is a work in progress so watch this space in the coming weeks as the children will be adding their own personal pages to the blog.
Le meas,
Kieran Quirke,
Acting Principal
